Claudia is an accredited SATOUR Registered Field Guide and a birder by nature. Unfortunately, her pilot license has expired.

Exploring the bush isn’t always predictable; there may be unexpected detours, shifting dunes, or vanishing campsites — but in true Afrikaans spirit, “Boer maak ‘n plan” which means "A farmer always finds a way".  That’s the essence of our journey: embracing challenges with good humor, ingenuity, and a spirit of adventure.

Edu is Edu, a born host, and a sort of MacGyver. Edu followed several photography courses and workshops at the School for Photography in Amsterdam the Netherlands.

Claudia & Edu speak English, German, and Dutch.

Claudia & Edu have teamed up, bundling their strengths for the love of the African life and as your guides in good spirit, to feel safe and secure as your partner during your extraordinary vacation. We focus not only on the Big Five, but also on the Ugly Five, the Small Five, the Magnificent Seven, the colourful birds, the breath-taking scenery, and the friendly local people whether in the townships of South Africa of in the remote villages of one of the neighbouring countries.

Dung Beetle Safaris was born from Claudia and Edu’s deep love for Africa’s untamed wilderness and their passion for sharing the continent’s diverse cultures and wildlife with you.

We named her “Froukje”.

Froukje is equipped with the AluCab Roof conversion, with an AirFryer and Nespresso coffee machine to add some comfort while bundu-bashing.
