Moremi is our favourite destination however, Kubu Island, Maun, Chobe, Nata and Kalahari are also on our list of places to go. We can blend your travel plans with our preferred route. Just have a look at this concept Itinerary and we can discuss all options. Be aware that often time is the limitation. The itinerary is for a 17 days overlanding trip, with 8 days visit to the Okavango Delta. The total days away from home to home is 21 days, including 2x flight duration time of 10h 45m. The 17 days Bundu-Bashing is the minimum we advise for a full and relaxing adventure.
Day 1
Travelling to South Africa.
This is the first day of your holiday.
Day 2
From Bushlore to Manyane Resort, Pilanesberg National Park, 175km, ~3.0 hours.
Today we will pick up the car, do shopping and this evening you will sleep amongst the Big 5.
Day 3
From Manyane Resort, Pilanesberg National Park to Campsite Stockpoort, 220km, ~ 4.0 hours.
The best time to spot animals is in the early morning. Today should start with a breakfast though, we propose to grab a quick bite. Coffee or Tea with rusks is what Overlanders do when in a “hurry”. Also today is the first day, of many to come to fold the tent and pack your stuff.
Day 4
From Stockpoort Border SA>>BW to Khama Rhino Sanctuary BW, 220km, ~4.0 hours.
Campsite Stockpoort is literary 100m from the Botswana / South Africa border post. This small campsite has an unexpected, good restaurant.
Day 5
From Khama Rhino Sanctuary to Camelthorn Farmstead, 389km, ~6.0 hours.
We pack and leave early from the campsite for Rhino Spotting before heading to the next camp in the Central District of Botswana. The last stretch of the road to the campsite might be a big challenge. Very deep and very soft sand may get you stuck, no worries, Edu will assist.
Day 6
At Camelthorn Farmstead.
The whole day relaxing at this beautiful campsite with private ablution. The viewing deck is on walking distance from the campsite and can be visited day and night. From the viewing deck overlooking a waterhole with hippos, crocodiles, impalas, bushbucks, elephants and more is just worth the time having this second day here.
Day 7
From Camelthorn Farmstead to Audi Camp Maun, 150km, ~2.5 hours.
Travel Day through this beautiful side of Botswana.
Day 8
From Audi Camp in Maun via Kaziikini Community in Mokhokhelo, 55km ~1.5 hours, to South Gate at Moremi Game Reserve, 40km ~4.0 hours.
Shopping in Maun for the next coming week, before heading to Moremi’s South Gate.
Today we travel for almost 100km from Maun to South Gate. The first 30km of the route is on tar, from there and for the next 8 days is only deep and soft sand driving, unless we travel during the rainy season which we than will end up driving through mud. By now you should have your basic confidence driving these level 2 tracks. The beautiful scenery where game is strolling down the roads is just breath-taking.
Arrival at South Gate is midafternoon. Welcome to Moremi, Okavango Delta. The camp is at the border of the Moremi Game Reserve. The waterhole at the campsite attracts all kind off animals. We often had Honey Badgers visiting the campsite at night.
Day 9
From South Gate Campsite to Third Bridge Campsite, 50km, ~5 hours, average speed 10km/h.
Game Spotting. This is where the focus is on for this trip.

Moremi Campsites have no electricity. Hot Water and proper ablutions are on walking distance from the campsite. Just be aware that Botswana is one open game reserve.

Two nights at Xakanaka. Were here on Day 12 and Day 13.
Day 13

Exploring the area and Game Spotting. At Xakanaka Mokoro boat trips through the delta can be made.
Day 14
From Xakanaxa to South Gate, 50km, ~5 hours, average speed 10km/h.
At day 14 is, unfortunately, where we slowly make our way to Jozi. You still have a full week of holiday in front of you, but it’s the second last day in Moremi. Today’s route is, to be honest, not so spectacular as the road from South Gate Campsite to Third Bridge to Xakanaxa. Changes to see wildlife is not less. We will continue game spotting.
Day 15
From South Gate via Kaziikini Community, 40km ~4 hours, to Bains Baobab at the Nxai Pan National Park, 270km ~5 hours.
There are only 3 Campsites at Bains Baobab. Campsite # 1 is the one most North of the three.
Day 16 & 17
From Bains Baobab to Nata Lodge, 245km, ~4.5 hours
Two nights at the campsite of this lodge.
Day 17
Campsite at Nata Lodge.
A total relaxing day. Hanging around the pool. Enjoying the food and snacks you’ve ordered from the restaurant and or sipping cocktails underneath the palm trees.
Day 18
From Nata Lodge to Stockpoort Border BW>>SA, 540km, ~8.5 hours.
It’s the first time during this holiday that there is a time limit at arrival. We must be through the Stockpoort border before 6pm. Our target is 5pm. The border close at 6 perhaps at 10 to… No hurries, no stress but we must leave on time this morning, 7:30am would be appreciated. 540km must be covered. The longest day trip this vacation.
The last stretch of 15km is a sand road, we’ve driven this road on our way up to Moremi.
From Stockpoort Border to Campsite Stockpoort Lodge, 100meter, less than 1 minute.
Back in South Africa. The campsite’s restaurant could be our choice for supper. It is Edu’s pleasure making you a Nespresso coffee at the camp. Tonight is the last night of our Bundu-Bashing tour.
Day 19
From Campsite Stockpoort Lodge to Bushlore Car Rental, 390km, 6 hours.
Travel Back Home. Drop Off at Bushlore is before 4pm. Edu will bring you both back to Tuareg Guesthouse.
The evening is yours to explore Midrand. The Mall of Africa is one of the largest shopping destinations in Gauteng, with 300 stores and more than 25 restaurants to choose from.
